The Verandah Resort & Spa

The Verandah's pristine setting incorporates a wild and exotic place where hidden white sandy beaches lead to crystal clear turquoise waters. Dramatic sunrises serve as early morning wake up calls and it's a place that doesn't seem to have quite caught up with the 21st century.

This 200 room luxury family style resort is situated on 30 spectacular waterfront acres, hidden away on the untouched north-east coast of Antigua. It lies adjacent to a designated National Park and incorporates marked nature trails, a powder soft white sand beach and crystal clear bay perfect for swimming. The historical Devils Bridge is only a brief walk away, whilst uninhabited nature sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island are only a boat ride away. The international airport and capital city are both just a 30 minute drive away.

Accommodation

All accommodations are air-conditioned, single-story junior suites, with 700 square feet and classic Caribbean-style architecture and décor, all with private verandahs offering beautiful water views through sliding-glass doors. Each has the look and feeling of a cozy Caribbean cottage, with white-washed trim and pale-green exteriors and fronted by a welcoming porch.

Glistening white-tiled bathrooms offer a deep soaking tub, separate shower and his-and-her sinks. Accommodations are equipped with flat-screen, satellite TV, safe, and direct-dial telephone, as well as mini-fridge, microwave, a wet bar with coffee/tea making facilities and iron/ironing board.

Bayview Suites
Bayview suites are single story duplex villas approx 700 sq. ft in classic Caribbean styled architecture, with private furnished verandahs. All have king size bed with pull-out sofa bed in living area with privacy curtain. Bathroom with tub, shower, his and her sink. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee/tea facilities and iron/ironing board complete the amenities. View of the bay and sleeps 4 people including children and infants.

Oceanfront Suites
700 sq.ft single story duplex villas with direct oceanfront views. Same amenities as Bayview Suites comfortably accommodate 4 people including infants and children.

Dining & Bars

The Verandah offers a range of dining experiences in three exciting restaurants, operated under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Ronaldo Collantes, a native of the Philippines. All three restaurants are centered in an expansive, centrally located activities complex on The Common, overlooking the pool and manicured grounds. It's a meeting spot for old friends as well as a place to make new ones.

SeaBreeze
The resort's main restaurant, seats 100 guests and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers a wide range of buffet-served choices that are sure to please guests of all ages. The lovely, open-air dining room is enhanced by light pine pergolas, ceiling fans and exposed beams and dark wood, with lofty vaulted ceilings for an airy, outdoor feeling. Seabreeze will be offering 5 nights of a la cart dining and 2 Caribbean themed buffet evenings.

Nicole's
The fine-dining restaurant, seats 60 guests, and offers a blend of stylishly presented, Caribbean-inflected cuisine. Warm red walls and dark wood trim create a cozy ambience, and rattan, bamboo and soft upholstered furnishings create a welcoming, Caribbean feel. (There is a $25 surcharge per person.)

Buccaneer
The Casual and fun Buccaneer seats 80 guests and serves lighter, family-friendly fare, such as pastas, pizza and burgers, as well as afternoon tea from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Sports & Facilities

The Verandah Resort & Spa caters to all ages. Verandah lies adjacent to a National Park and its grounds incorporate marked nature trails, two soft white-sand beaches and tranquil waters on a protected covelike bay - just perfect for swimming or snorkeling in its crystal-clear waters. The resort's expansive, shimmering free-form pool is the island's largest, an excellent spot for lounging in the sun or enjoying a cooling dip.

The Verandah offers nonmotorized water sports, including windsurfing, Sunfish sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, and hobie-style catamaran sailing. On land, guests can partake in tennis and table tennis, or enjoy the spacious, well-equipped fitness center. Younger guests are sure to enjoy fun and games at the beautiful Kid's Club. Three palate-pleasing restaurants invite guests to savor familiar and new cuisines, while four bars and lounges keep visitors refreshed both day and night. The expansive Tranquility Spa offers a host of soothing treatments.

Spa

Spa Tranquility is an expansive and elegantly appointed hideaway for pampering, restorative treatments for the body and skin. Surrounded by French doors that let in the light and beautiful outdoor views, guests are greeted by soothing sounds and a relaxing cup of herbal tea.
