Cuisine
While here, take the opportunity to discover Bahamian cuisine - spicy and uniquely flavoured. Seafood is the staple of the diet, with fresh conch scored with a knife and sprinkled with lime juice and spices being a delicious local favourite. Other delicacies include land crabs and Bahamian rock lobster. Many dishes here are served with pigeon peas and rice mixed with spices, tomatoes and onions.
Beaches
The Bahamas has some breathtaking beaches. Miles of pink and pure white powdery sand, with endless crystal-clear turquoise waves rolling onto shore. Some of the best and most unspoiled beaches in the world. You can let loose on miles of powdery sand on Nassau island, or get away from the crowds on the remote beaches of the Out Islands.
Climate
Thanks to trade winds that blow throughout the islands, the Bahamas are blessed with warm weather year-round. The coolest time is from September through May, when the temperature averages 70-75 degrees. During the rest of the year, there is high humidity with the temperature ranging from 80-90 degrees. At night it generally drops by 5 to 7 degrees.
